Coaching has many different forms or expressions. There are sport coaches, musical coaches, relationship coaches, to name but a few. It appears that whatever you may be doing, there’s a coach out there to help you do it.
Our coaches work alongside individuals to help improve their performance at work. Coaches help people identify their unique strengths and weaknesses, tying those to their personal aspirations. As coaches we can help individuals see opportunities for improvement as well as practical ways forward.
What does coaching look like in a leader?
Coaches encourage employees to establish long-term development goals, and help them to conceptualise a plan for reaching their goals. By linking people’s daily work to these long term goals coaches keep people motivated.
Learn to coach by being coached.
One of the best ways to learn how to be a good coach is to be coached. You will experience what it feels like to be a coachee. You will understand what works and what doesn’t, what feels right and what feels wrong.
